About Best Tourist Attractions & Things to Do in Gulmarg

In winter, this ride facilitates Gulmarg’s status as one of the continent’s best ski resorts with the fewest crowds. From Apharwat’s peak, ski hard for 10 to 15 minutes to the base and rest on the way back up. These steep slopes require some skiing experience. 

Adventurous skiers may like to try searching out unspoiled snowfalls on a heli-skiing trip, or take a guided run through backcountry powder. Amateurs can book lessons before trying more difficult slopes.

The first few turns on Shark Fin are difficult but once the narrow chute is crossed, it becomes slightly less dangerous. Shark Fin offers a vertical drop of 300-meter. There are some tricky patches where the skier has to ride on the face between rocks and cliffs. Shark Fin is directly visible from the top of Apharwat mountain peak and thus has become quite a popular Gulmarg tourist place to visit. Baba Reshi Shrine in Gulmarg

The mausoleum of Baba Payamuddin (Pam Din) is a popular religious place near Gulmarg. Located in Baramullah district in Rambodh Village, the shrine is revered highly by Muslims and Hindus alike. Anointed by Baba Zainuddin Rishi (disciple of Saint Nooruddin), Baba Reshi moved to Rambodh and performed miracles, helped people and preached Islam.
A Daan (fire place) was constructed by the saint in the village, which is reckoned to fulfil the wishes of people. The shrine of Baba Reshi has become a popular place to visit in Gulmarg and is thronged by visitors throughout the year. It is also recognized as one of the top holy shrines of the valley of Kashmir.
